"Brand new iPhone 3G blended in a blender!"
When I first received this Twit from a friend in New Zealand, I thought, "No way! They won't."
Well, they did! Turns out that there is this website, "Will it Blend", that sells Blendtec brand of blenders. They will blend everything they can get their hands on, from golf balls to glow sticks. I guess, they want to show that their range of blenders can blend anything... LOL, including the spanking brand new iPhone 3G.
I must say it is a pretty slick marketing gimmick, capitalising on the launch and popularity of the iPhone to promote their site and products... LOL.
Or go here to watch the blending of iPhone 3G on their site.
Sick!

iPhone 3G Costs an Arm and a Leg in New Zealand?
My sister is coming back from New Zealand this Saturday (19th July). She emailed us all and asked what we wanted, if anything, from New Zealand.
Naturally, of course, my brother-in-law and I requested an iPhone 3G each... LOL, amidst complains from my other sister about wasting money.
Heck! It is supposed to only cost USD 299 without subscription from the Telco! Right? Well... read the attached and decide for yourself.

Click on the image to read the newspaper cutting.
From a New Zealander's point of view (my sister's, of course), the iPhone comes with the hefty price tags of NZ$ 979 for the 8GB version and NZ$ 1129 for the16GB version, which works up to RM 2420 and RM 2790 respectively.
I must say I have to disagree with my sister there. Here a normal Dopod D810 costed RM 2900. And that's with only a 1GB MiniSD card.
So, my conclusion is that it is not expensive! But then again, for me to come up with that kind of moolah right now... now that's the problem... LOL.

iPhone 3G Launched and Dismantled
I received a twit from Joe Seah that someone dismantled an iPhone 3G.
"What??!!" was what came to mind. Why would anyone wanna do that to a brand new iPhone 3G? Apparantly, that's not the only thing that they did. They actually bought the phone from US and flew back to New Zealand before dismantling it. LOL...
iPhone 3G Gutted
Here are some photos of iPhone 3G after being dismantled (Source: iFixIt).

This bunch of guys actually waited in line to buy the phone in the United States and then brought the phone back to Auckland, New Zealand, in less than 24 hours just so they could disassemble it. Go here to get a step-by-step account of the disassembly procedures... LOL
If you feel like gutting your iPhone 3G, go here for step-by-step instructions.
Back in 2007, the first iPhone was also gutted

This is a photo of the old iPhone that was dismantled by Thinksecret.com back in 2007. Unfortunately, Thinksecret has since been sued and shutdown by Apple. Not for dismantling the iPhone mind you... but for violating Apple trade secrets.
